The STOPNOTinmySchool Project
STOPNOTinmySchool.org is a website in development that will provide a way for students to support each other and share ideas about how to address bullying and prejudice in their schools and communities in positive ways. We are looking for true stories and honest thoughts from students in the form of poetry, essays, stories, video, artwork….
Submit your story, poem, or artwork to help other students feel supported and empowered to stop bullying and prejudice in their schools!
WHAT IS YOUR STORY?
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TELL OTHER STUDENTS?
We are looking for...
Empowering Stories
Did you ever experience bullying or prejudice and found a positive way to respond that worked? Empower others by telling them what worked for you.
Stories of Standing Up for Others
Did you ever see someone else being hurt or harassed, and you or someone else did something to speak up and end the harassment? What did you do? Give other students ideas about how they can stand up to bullying and prejudice, and help create schools where everyone cares, and everyone feels safe, respected, and included.
Thoughts about Diversity:
What Do You Wish Everyone Else Understood about You?
Have you ever experienced other people’s prejudice or stereotypes because of who you are, e.g., your race, ethnicity, religion, ability, sexual orientation, gender expression, who’s in your family, the way you look, how much you weigh, how athletic you are, etc? What do you want to teach other students so that they will understand, and not want to hurt or insult people who are different? What do you think other students need to know or understand about you, so that you will not have to face prejudice and stereotypes in school?
