During the seminar , I mentioned the"instant personalization" of Facebook. For further information about these changes, follow this link (this will take you out of the Spectrum Diversity website) to the ACLU website: http://www.aclu.org/blog/technology-and-liberty/facebook-addresses-several-privacy-problems. Once there, click on the active links in this article to find additional articles about protecting your privacy on Facebook.
I also mentioned the Center for Safe and Responsible Internet Use, and I highly recommend the writings of Nancy Willard to anyone intereted in cyber bullying, particularly the legal aspects of discipline. See the document available on the csriu.org website regarding the legal limits on schools' authority to discipline cyber misbehavior, including an outline of procedures for the investigation of cyber incidents. Follow this link to the CSRIU website: http://www.csriu.org/cyberbully/ and click on "educators' guide." Also look at the other documents on the CSRIU website; very high quality, very detailed information about legal issues surrounding schools and cyber bullying.
